1986 With only 48 entries for the 1986 British Breeders Forum Produce Stakes it was decided not to stage a qualifying round, despite this the quality of the runners was there for all to see. Among the entries were members from the RON HARDY / SARAHS BUNNY litter (De Mulder) which contained the Greyhound Derby finalists MASTER HARDY and FEARLESS ACTION and five members of a November 84 litter by WHISPER WISHES / WESTMEAD TANIA (Savva). The fastest time of the first round was recorded by WESTMEAD CANNON (28.48) litter brother to the Romford Christmas Puppy Cup winner CANNONROE, but the race that really stood out was the race that brought together the well fancied De Mulder pair FEARLESS POWER and FEARLESS SWIFT. The former outstayed his kennel companion in a very fast 28.49 as early bumping saw WESTMEAD MOVE knocked out. The second round saw WESTMEAD CANNON (28.79) continue his winning ways when landing the odds of 1/3 in a four dog heat, other heat winners FEARLESS SWIFT, (28.58), SANDWINDER (29.31) and AI.L PACE (28.53), the semi.finals saw wins for the two unbeaten dogs, WESTMEAD CANNON (28.54) and ALL PACE (28.78) while FEARLESS SWIFT failed by half a length to reach the final. At Wembley his litter brother FEARLESS ACTION was winning the Select Stakes by 5 lengths. The final saw WESTMEAD CANNON (28.53) make his best start of the competition to lead all the way from the six box, while his main rival the wide running ALL PACE, who earlier in the year had reached the quarter finals of the Derby lost any chance when given the three box, among the other finalists was SHE WOLF whose litter brother LONE WOLF would go on to win the St Leger later in the year . The consolation was won by FEARLESS SWIFT (28.43)
(De Mulder) with the Sava runner WESTMEAD WISH litter brother to WESTMEAD
MOVE second. The connections of WESTMEAD CANNON picked up a cheque for
£10,000.
