This does not profess
to be the definitive history of the Greyhound Breeders Forum Stakes. Rather
it is an attempt to mark the twentieth anniversary of the race which has
become second only to the Greyhound Derby in importance by the British Greyhound
Breeders. The Produce Stakes is twenty years old having been in its present form since 1983. In that time it has been run at three different venues and over three different distances. It was first run at Harringay over the 475m until Harringay's closure in 1987. Wembley was the new home from 1988 when the distance was extended to 490m, to make the event more central to all. The event was moved to Hall Green its present home in 1993 and is now run over the 480m where the event has gone from strength to strength.
